Lead-DBS v3.2 out now!
Ningfei Li just pushed v3.2 to our servers, which comes with lots of minor fixes and a few larger updates, including the Lead-Tutor package to self-train DBS electrode localizations with Lead-DBS. |
| |
Lead-Tutor is the first ever training dataset for Lead-DBS and comes with a tool to evaluate your own results.
It is very challenging to openly release DBS imaging datasets, and we are very grateful to the team behind Lead-Tutor, especially Lauren Hart and Savir Madan for making this happen. Indeed, we are not aware of any other open DBS imaging datasets, so it may be the first of its kind. |
| |
Ever wondered how accurate your DBS localizations were? Or are you a new user that wants to start up using Lead-DBS? Simply download the dataset, start localizing and 'Submit Results' to see how you performed (next image). |
| |
Results of user localizations compared to expert users – report automatically created using Lead Tutor. |

One of the three research focus areas at the University Hospital Cologne is neuromodulation (https://medfak.uni-koeln.de/forschung/forschung-an-der-fakultaet/forschungsschwerpunkte). The university hospital is unique in Germany with the extensive stereotactic capabilities provided by the Stereotaxy Department of Dr. Veerle Visser-Vandewalle and the provision of deep brain stimulation for both neurological and psychiatric indications (surgeries for Parkinson’s, dystonia, tremor, Alzheimer’s, pain, Huntington’s, Tourette’s, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and more). |

The University of Cologne (UoC) – founded in 1388 – is one of Germany’s largest universities. With its 6 faculties it covers a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines from the humanities, life, natural and social sciences. 613 professors, 5,137 doctoral students and 48,214 students jointly teach and conduct research on the UoCs vibrant campus located in a mega-urban region with approx. 9 million people in one of Europe’s largest research and development areas. At the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital Cologne, 1,477 academic staff in 70 different institutes/clinics work together to conduct excellent clinical, translational, and medical research and to develop new diagnostic procedures and therapies that can be transferred into clinical practice and thus improve patient care. |

New Atlases
Lead-DBS v3.2 comes with numerous small fixes and improvements of the code, but also with the following new atlas resources:
|
| |
While the Morel atlas has been openly available for users that completed a data sharing agreement, in the past, it is truly fantastic news for the community that the legendary atlas has now been made completely openly available by the authors. We would like to personally thank Dr. Andras Jakab for reaching out to let us know that we can readily integrate it into Lead-DBS, as well! |
